A new single formula for the law of the wall and its application to wall-modeled large-eddy simulation

چکیده

In this work, we propose a single formula for the law of wall, which is dubbed as logarithmic-exponential (LOG-EXP) formula, predicting mean velocity profile in different regions near wall. And then feedforward neural network (FNN), whose inputs and training data are based on new trained wall-modelled large-eddy simulation (WMLES) turbulent channel flows. The direct numerical (DNS) flows used to evaluate performance both FNN. Compared with Werner-Wengle (WW) model WMLES, better FNN WMLES observed Reynolds stresses.

Wall-modeled large-eddy simulation of a separated flow over the NASA wall-mounted hump

Wall-modeled large-eddy simulation (WMLES) attempts to provide a predictive but affordable framework for LES by modeling the effect of the computationally demanding inner-layer structures on the outer-layer flow. The grids employed in LES are designed to resolve the outer layer only, thereby reducing the computational cost of LES significantly to affordable levels. The saving in the computation...

Wall-modeled large eddy simulation in complex geometries with application to high-lift devices

In large eddy simulations (LES) of wall-bounded flows, the need to resolve energycarrying eddies in the vicinity of the wall leads to a prohibitive cost which prevents its use at very high Reynolds numbers. To overcome this limitation, many attempts have been made in the last two decades to model the unresolved scales near the wall. These works mainly focused on two different approaches: hybrid...

Aero-optical Predictions of High-reynolnds Number Flows Using Wall-modeled Large-eddy Simulation

by Mohammed S. Kamel Reliable prediction of optical wavefront distortions induced by compressible turbulent flow surrounding an aperture is crucial to the development of airborne laser systems. Large-eddy simulation (LES) with a wall model provides a promising highfidelity simulation method for high-Reynolds-number aero-optical flows by avoiding the severe near-wall resolution requirement. In t...
